UNITED NATIONS, May 24: Emergency Directors from United Nations agencies and humanitarian partners will travel to Afghanistan and Pakistan from May 26 to June 1, a UN statement said.
During the six-day mission, the directors will see for themselves the ongoing humanitarian operations in the countries and look into ways in which the humanitarian community can strengthen its response to meet the needs of communities affected by conflict, natural disasters and displacement.
They are scheduled to visit the Jalozai Camp in Pakistan’s Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province, which is home to around 12,500 families displaced by the complex emergency in the region.
Following that, they hope to visit communities affected by recurrent floods in Sindh.
