KARACHI: A spokesman of the Bilawal House has strongly condemned the defacing of the logo of Benazir Income Support Programme (BISP) at its Islamabad Headquarters.
The culprit tried to remove the portrait of Benazir Bhutto from the signboard at the programme’s Islamabad Headquarters. Bilawal House demanded immediate action against the officials involved in this “disgusting and unpardonable act”. “Picture of the defaced logo is making rounds of the social media, provoking strong resentment and outrage among the public as well as the jiyalas all over the country, which may prompt country-wide protests in case an urgent action was not taken,” the Bilawal House spokesman said in a statement.
The spokesman said “Benazir Bhutto remains in the heart of every poor, downtrodden and toiling masses across the country and such cowardly and outrageous acts won’t be tolerated anymore”. He said, “Any attempt by Nawaz Sharif government and its henchmen to rename or re-design the logo of BISP will be strongly resisted and protested in every nook and corner”.
The spokesman asked Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif to order an enquiry into this incident, if he is not directly or indirectly involved in this “conspiracy”.
